A bridge uses two abutment teeth on each side of a gap for an anchor to hold the frame and replacement teeth in place.  The teeth can be constructed of different materials, but typically are made of porcelain and are color-matched to the remaining teeth. 

The most popular type of bridge is a traditional bridge.  Crowns are placed on the two abutting teeth, and the bridge is bonded to the crowns. 

The strongest and most stable option when selecting a bridge is the implant-supported type.  Implants with crowns are placed on the sides of the gap, and a bridge is bonded to the crowns.  This process takes longer to complete.
